    Posted: 24 Mar 2019 at 8:59am
Greetings 787 Drivers!

We are excited to announce that Version 1.1.3 of our Ultimate 787 Collection is now available!

In an effort to continuously improve our 787, we have invested a lot of time into making this product much more stable, more realistic, more comprehensive  and more refined.
In short we have made this product much more FUN to fly.

Leading the long list of fixes are significant stability improvements that eliminate random CTDs (crash-to-desktop) some users were experiencing.
This was largely enabled by the automatic crash detection module we introduced with our previous update.
Thank you to everyone who submitted reports!

The Flight Dynamics have been further refined for highly accurate fuel flow and climb performance.
Further changes address issues related to Panelstate loading, the Autopilot, the Flight Management System, Displays and many more.
The full changelog can be found at the end of this press release.

But as always this update does not only come with fixes but also some exciting new additions.

We are happy to introduce PBR (Physically Based Rendering) to our exterior models in Prepar3D v4.4.
We highly encourage everyone to upgrade to the latest version of P3D to benefit from the improved visuals.
PBR models will not be available for FSX and outdated versions of P3Dv4.
Liveries for the most part do not need to be redownloaded with the exception of Virgin Atlantic.

New in this version is also Remote CDU support for the Lower MFD and the Electronic Flight Bag.
This allows you to use any page on the lower display (most notably the CDU) on many different mobile devices such as an Android tablet or phone, iPhone, iPad, Amazon tablet, Windows Tablet or Windows phone.
For more information on Remote CDU, please visit www.flightsimapps.com

And finally a feature we are very excited about is the addition of Enroute Wind capability, allowing you to manually enter enroute winds or uplink them directly from ActiveSky.
All you need to do is program your route and perform a WIND REQUEST on the RTE DATA page in the CDU.
The 787 will automatically pick the closest weather stations to your route and uplink the information for more accurate ETA and Fuel Predictions.
ActiveSky is required to be running for wind uplinks to work.

For those of you who like to interface with your products using hardware we have created a new “Sim Builder’s Kit” which includes everything you need to know in order to build your very own 787 home cockpit!
Yes, this is a challenge and we are awaiting your photos!

We would like to thank our customers for the feedback we have received over the last months. The scope of this update was largely driven by community feedback.

How to update?

Option A – Update through Flight1 Purchase Agent
In order to update directly via the Flight1 Purchase Agent, please follow these steps:
1. Run the Flight1 Purchase Agent and change to the QualityWings Store
2. click the “Library” tab
3. Select “The Ultimate 787 Collection - P3Dv4” or “The Ultimate 787 Collection” (for FSX)
4. Select “See Updates”
5. Select “Download”. The installation will start automatically once the download is complete.

Option B – Update Existing Installation manually
We have created update installers that will update your current installation to v1.1.3.  Liveries will need to be reinstalled afterwards. We recommend using the batch installation functionality of the QW Dispatcher. Simply select multiple liveries at once and it will install all of them automatically.
Users will need to have v1.1.2(A) installed already! Otherwise please use option C.

Option C – complete reinstallation (recommended)
All full installers on our website have been updated to the latest version.
Files on the Flight1 product pages will get updated within 24 hours.
If you decide to perform a full reinstallation, please first uninstall all liveries and then uninstall the 787. Then run the new installer as administrator.

We recommend running the installer as administrator (right click - run as administrator).
New installers can also be downloaded directly in the Flight1 Purchase Agent and on our website.

I guess the jaggies in the new update is down to the same problem PMDG have with their 747 and PBR. Where I think LM have a fix for it in 4.5? And in the meantime we can either ignore it or do some minimap thing with the repaint textures.

After complete reinstallation of version 1.1.3 there is no backlight LOGO and WING. The textures of the lamps are there and they are glowing, but the engines have no lighting and no tail.

Make sure you remove any shader add-on (ie Tomatoshade, PTA, ENVShade) and restore the orignial P3D files first if you use them.  These shader mods can and will interfere with PBR.

I had the same problem with PBR shimmer/jaggies with the PMDG 747-400.

Rock solid solution was to use the Nvidia Inspector to enhance P3D's Antialiasing with 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling (transparency AA). Absolutely crushed it.

I posted a screenshot of my NVI setting here:

https://imgur.com/1DSzk9W

Edit: just installed the QW 787, which also looks great with the settings above.

Also make sure to run the installer as admin.

Maybe you should add a line to the first post:

"For the novel PBR textures do be displayed properly, it is necessary that your P3D Version 4.4 installation contains the content of Version 4.4".

Means: if you only updated the client from 4.3 to 4.4 (as I did and many others...), PBR textures won't be rendered correctly. In such a case, you need to install the content update as well.

I too would like to echo the comments of others and thank you for an excellent plane, which was made that much better by this upgrade.

Anyone who doesn't have the Virgin Livery needs to run out and get it, the PBR is spectacular.

Been flying routes all day, I am getting much better FPS; the performance improvement is very noticeable on my system.

Handles perfectly, flies VNAV/LNAV as programmed, a very enjoyable experience.

Well done and thank you !

I went with...

Option B – Update Existing Installation manually for FSX
We have created update installers that will update your current installation to v1.1.3

I went to use the Dispatcher and went WTF!...somebody left 15 liveries (Besides the default QW House liveries) in the installers Aircraft.cfg for the 787-9.
My humble contributions to the Flight Sim community...

Hello!

I love the 1.1.3 update.

However, this version isn’t connecting to my Active Sky program. Is there something I need to change to make the 787 connect to the weather snapshot files?

Thanks,

Marco

There is a post in the support forum on this under the header FMS and CDU.
It requires an entry in the 787 cfg. file

Just to avoid confusion. By default NO entry in the qw787.cfg is required for the weather radar to work.

Hi Lars

I think the person is referring to getting no wind rte data which does need an entry to point it to weather snapshot files and NOT the actual weather radar - might be wrong though.

I have to admit when I first bought the plane I ended up returning it and getting a refund. With the update I've taken the plunge and re-purchased it and I'm absolutely loving it. Even performance seems greatly improved for some reason. Keep up the great work!

I did the same thing (though part of it was also a visual issue I was having in P3D at the time that made the 787 flight deck screens hard to look at).

The QW787 is absolutely crushing it right now, I'm glad I gave it another shot.

On a side note I'd love to see some stats for that recent Cross the Pond event on Vatsim...suspect the 787 was very well represented :)

What a fantastic update.

Firstly..the overall performance of the product has been improved and those "rough" edges we saw when it was first released are now slowly been smoothed over.

PBR...great to see this feature.

I did have a CTD with "bugsplat64" being the culprit but a quick search of the forum has provided a possible solution.

Brilliant!
Live & let live....

Forghet below, I found a thread on the support forum

Hi

The Enroute Wind Capability fails
787 1.1.3 + FSX + AS16 ver 6452 (running with flightplan loaded)

A wind data request returns:
"ACTIVE SKY WEATHER DATA NOT FOUND"
"wx_station_list.txt"
"current_ws_snapshot.txt"

The files "current_wx_snapshot.txt" and "wx_station_list" exists in:
C:\Users\mats\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\AS16_FSX\Weather

Other apps like ATC Pro Finds the weather
Where are 787 looking for it?

Regards
Mats Sederholm
