I don't believe these events are assignable from the menu.  Theses events I think came from Combat Flight Sim, they are legacy events hat is still embedded in FSX/P3D.

We used them because there's almost no chance of a conflict with an active event or kepypress.

If you want assign a key to that event, you'll need a addon or tool like FSUIPC to do it, or create a gauge or module to trigger the event..

Thanks for the information !

i have tried something and lnav and vnav buttons are working !

now some questions:
what means: TCAS Knob - what should happen, if i press that key?

it seems to me, that the 3 positions/knobs:
KEY_TOGGLE_PADLOCK             EFIS control panel APT button press
KEY_UNLOCK_TARGET               EFIS control panel NAV button press
KEY_TOGGLE_DAMAGE_TEXT      EFIS control panel GRP button press

are not at the fsx code.

i can not assign that keys...

I have changed the "standard" xml like this:
------------------
<SimBase.Document
        Type="Controls"
        version="1,0"
        id="Standard">
    <Descr>Controls Mapping File</Descr>
    <Filename>Standard.XML</Filename>
    <SimControls.Map>
        <Name>KEYBOARD_MAIN</Name>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+1</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_AFTERBURNER1</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+2</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_AFTERBURNER2</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+3</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_AFTERBURNER3</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+4</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_PADLOCK</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+5</Key>
            <Down>UNLOCK_TARGET</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+6</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_DAMAGE_TEXT</Down>
        </Entry>

----------------------------------------------
Afterburner 1-2 are definitly working - i can hear the knob-sound if i press shift+1,shift+2

shift 3 - 6 i can see and hear nothing
and at the "standard" xml are (after quit sim) no shift 4-6
only the shift 1-3 are still at the "standard xml"

I have successfull updated to ver. 1.5. - but the problem is still the same:
I can not assign that 3 - i think "padlock" "target" and "damage_text" is not in the code of fsx?

KEY_TOGGLE_PADLOCK          EFIS control panel APT button press
KEY_UNLOCK_TARGET           EFIS control panel NAV button press
KEY_TOGGLE_DAMAGE_TEXT      EFIS control panel GRP button press

I looked at the changelog for the 1.5 release, and I can see some changes were made to deal with issues that arose in P3Dv4.

The Afterburner events were disabled because the  events  had some differences or did not work in P3Dv4.

Below is what remains in 1.5

KEY_TOGGLE_PADLOCK             EFIS control panel APT button press
KEY_UNLOCK_TARGET               EFIS control panel NAV button press
KEY_TOGGLE_DAMAGE_TEXT     EFIS control panel GRP button press
KEY_TOGGLE_ENEMY_INDICATOR   EFIS control panel Map Range Increase
KEY_STOP_PRIMARY_GUNS           EFIS control panel Map Range Decrease
KEY_BAIL_OUT                            EFIS control panel Format Increase (left click)
KEY_LETTERBOX                          EFIS control panel Format Decrease (right click)

Okay thank you, but:

How - or - where do i have to assign this commands?

As i wrote, i put it into "Standard.xml" like this:

----------------------------
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+4</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_PADLOCK</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+5</Key>
            <Down>UNLOCK_TARGET</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+6</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_DAMAGE_TEXT</Down>
        </Entry>
------------------------

but by pressing "shift+4,5,6" nothing happens !

What am i doing wrong???

- After quit FSX, these 3 commands are no longer in the "Standard.xml" file. "FSX" is deleting them...
- But the ...afterburner commands still are in the "Standard.xml"

Why does FSX delete the 3 (TOGGLE_PADLOCK , UNLOCK_TARGET , TOGGLE_DAMAGE_TEXT) commands? There must be something wrong i guess... ?!

And:

You wrote: "The Afterburner events were disabled because the  events  had some differences or did not work in P3Dv4."

i have fsx, not p3d. i have seen that there are 2 different installers. One for fsx, one for P3DV4.
Please dont mix up this ;)

Something like the below....

(&gt;K:TOGGLE_PADLOCK)

You don't need to give it a value, just trigger (call) it.

Probably because you can't write to them, you can only trigger them.

Okay i have tried in the "Standard.xml" that:

.
.
.

<Entry>
    <Key>CTRL+6</Key>
    <Down>&gt;K:TOGGLE_PADLOCK</Down>
</Entry>
.
.
.
but it do not work.

can you please write down the complete entry for the "standard.xml" ?

I am unfamiliar with "triggering". I have asked google - but found nothing for "trigger + fsx" ...

Unfortunately I'm not well versed with this xml, I pretty much stay on the C++ side.

One of our team members knows a bit more, he's not available until the weekend. I will ask then.

Hi Newcomer,

I don't see anything wrong with the way you put it in the standard.xml.

Quote
       <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+4</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_PADLOCK</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+5</Key>
            <Down>UNLOCK_TARGET</Down>
        </Entry>
        <Entry>
            <Key>SHIFT+6</Key>
            <Down>TOGGLE_DAMAGE_TEXT</Down>
        </Entry>

I just had a look at the FSX SDK and it's not listed in there.
They must have removed those events after FS9.

So unfortunately these commands are no longer supported.
